E-Commerce Email Marketing Strategist

The E-Commerce Email Strategist at KAR Creative is instrumental in driving the success of our clients' digital marketing efforts. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive email marketing strategies that align with clients' brand objectives and marketing goals across 3 key clients. The strategist is responsible for ensuring that all campaigns are targeted, measurable, and effective, contributing to overall client satisfaction and business growth.

The ideal strategist has at least 3 years of experience working in Klaivyo and has a strong mastery of the technical requirements of the platform. The ideal candidate has a strong mastery of data and data-driven decision making and can marry this with the creative chops required to brief and build high performing and on-brand campaigns for our clients. Understanding email marketing for retail-first CPG brands is a major plus!


Role Details
Contract position approximately 25-30 hours per month.
Ability to attend limited team and client meetings (approx. 5 per month) in PST.
Budgeted Rate: $40-45 / hour DOE.

 
Email Marketing Strategy

  • Email Marketing Editorial and Calendar Strategy: Lead the creation of email marketing editorial calendar for brands including development of campaign concepts in line with client needs.

  • Develop and Implement Campaigns: Work alongside designer to create and execute email marketing campaigns that drive engagement, conversions, and retention. Support in the crafting of great copy for emails.

  • Segmentation and Personalization: Utilize audience segmentation and personalization techniques to enhance email performance and relevance.

  • A/B Testing: Conduct A/B testing on email elements (subject lines, content, CTAs) to optimize campaign effectiveness.

  • Flow Management: Build, manage and optimize flows for email programs with the support of the designer to help drive revenue on client accounts.

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and implement any technical set up and analysis within the Klaivyo platform.  

  • QA: Check implementation of emails for quality assurance prior to sending. 

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze email campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.

Communication and Teamwork

  • Client Interaction: Attend client meetings to understand their goals and provide updates on campaign performance.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, Designer and other team members to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing strategies.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on campaign performance to clients and internal stakeholders, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

  • Feedback Incorporation: Incorporate client and team feedback into campaign strategies and executions to ensure alignment with overall marketing objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in email marketing and paid media campaign management.

  • Proven experience with email marketing platforms.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client and team collaboration.

  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

  • A degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
